The Concept

I’m a landscape photographer based in Planet Earth. A geologist, and a deep nature observer. A traveler who has been freezing moments for about 15 years.

My photography is not much about documenting the real world. Its construction is based on visions. How can the Earth be felt? What can a land change in one’s mind? It’s about impossible landscapes that actually exist. Perspectives and perceptions.

It’s also about walking, driving and flying. Shifting lands. Trekking, trekking and trekking. Into the wild. Watching everything from the summit. Heading all the way back to the valley.

And my mission is to induce “contemplation state” inside your head. Expose yourself to deep beauty and and let your eyes do the talking. Shift your perspectives. Blow your mind! In a way the “preserve” mantra will echo there till the end of your time.

The Trail

Henrique Murta was born in Minas Gerais: a land where the mountains take the form of waves in a stormy sea.

Since the beginning of his life, he has been intensely experiencing the magnificent nature of Brazil. His father (Roberto Murta), an exceptional wildlife photographer, showed him the rare beauty of life and lands from the most varied perspectives.

Because he had such a strong affection for nature, he decided to study geology. During his undergraduate and master’s degrees, in addition to becoming even more amazed by the Earth, he learned to read its language. His senses became more acute to the mysteries of the natural world.

Murta shares his visions through artworks, materialized in mineral pigment ink on 100% cotton paper. In addition, he offers mentoring and immersive photography workshops in the midst of nature.

His work has been recognized in more than 70 international awards, exhibited in more than 10 photography exhibitions and featured in more than 10 publications in books, magazines and newspapers.
